CoolSaver A/C Tune-ups
What is it?
To obtain a CoolSaver incentive, the customer must hire a participating CoolSaver Participating Contractor (https://swepcosavings.com/#/find-acontractor/coolsaver-contractors) to service the customer’s air-conditioning or heat pump units. The measure diagnoses and optimizes the unit’s performance and includes:
- Rinsing the unit’s condenser and evaporator coils
- Cleaning the unit’s blower fan and filter
- Adjusting the unit’s airflow and/or refrigerant level, as needed CoolSaver incentives are offered as point-of-sale discounts by the participating CoolSaver
Am I eligible?
- To qualify for a CoolSaver incentive, the air-conditioner or heat pump unit must:
- Be an air-cooled direct expansion air-conditioner or heat pump
- Have been installed on site for no less than 1 year and be in operable condition
- Have not received a CoolSaver incentive in the previous 5 years
- Not be a package terminal air conditioner (PTAC), mini-split, window unit or chiller
- Be serviced by a participating CoolSaver Participating Contractor when the outside temperature is greater than or equal to 75°F, unless otherwise approved in writing
How to get it
- Contact an Energy Advisor to schedule an assessment and identify energy efficiency opportunities and incentives.
- Complete an incentive application with a description of your proposed project.
- Once your project is complete, notify our Energy Advisor of the completion date and schedule and schedule a post-installation inspection.
- Your final incentive amount is based on verified kWh savings achieved by the project. We’ll mail your incentive check within 4-6 weeks of project verification.
