Heat pump water heaters, also commonly referred to as hybrid electric water heaters, use advanced technology to get the job done. Instead of using energy to create heat, heat pump water heaters use electricity to move heat by extracting heat from the surrounding air to heat the water in the tank.

All SWEPCO residential customers are eligible to participate. However, your heat pump water heater must be ENERGY STAR-certified.

You can purchase a heat pump water heater online or at a local retailer. Be sure to save your receipt since it’s part of your rebate application.
