Energy-Saving Water Heating Tips
- Buy an ENERGY STAR®-certified water heater.
- Wrap your water heater with a water heater blanket.
- Wash laundry in cold water.
- Wash full loads of laundry and full loads of dishes.
- Use the energy saver selections on your dishwasher.
- Install low-flow plumbing fixtures like shower heads and faucet aerators.
- Lower your water heater thermostat to 120 degrees.
- If you have a swimming pool, install solar heaters to warm the water.
Save Energy At Home With Heat Pump Water Heaters
ENERGY STAR®-certified hybrid water heaters can save a household of four approximately $350 per year on its electric bills compared to a standard electric water heater and up to $3,750 over the water heater’s lifetime.
Larger families — those that typically use more hot water — will save even more!
